Western Tunes

For some reason, I feel like watching Clint Eastwood's "Pale Rider", so while I hunt it up here are some moody tunes that bring western cinema to my mind...

"Ace Of Spades" - Link Wray

"Black Wings" - Tom Waits

"Lonesome Town" - The Cramps

"Ghost On The Highway" - The Gun Club

"Love Me" - The Cramps

The Night Tripper

Another rebel hero of mine, who I'm rediscovering and who's fortunately still kicking around in the local dimensions (and selling boxer shorts from his webpage, as I found out only this afternoon)...

Enjoyyyy.

That's How I Lived: Remembering Lux Interior

One year ago, somebody smashed a lightbulb in the house. Now it's all got that much dimmer.

I'm not all that eloquent, but I will say this. One of the classiest people I ever knew about was the late, great and all-around extraordinary Mr. Erick Lee Purkhiser, known to some as Vip-Vop, to others as Raven Beauty but to most as Lux Interior. I'll be using present tense whenever I write concerning this man, because though actually dead and buried, he has more life in his rotting left hand than have in their entire beings many, many others I could mention.

To commemorate the life of this truly astonishing human being, I've picked out a few of his favourite tunes and a few of his own inventions, as well as one or two choice cuts in the mood.

Lux, we love you and we'll never forget what you and your equally charming wife gave to us.

Fiends, stay sick, turn blue, and tear it up.
